Supplement to the accessibility statement

Our website offers the AccessGO accessibility plugin (www.accessgo.de) from DGfB Deutsche Gesellschaft für Barrierefreiheit mbH. Users can adapt the site to individual needs or preferences. Open the settings via the AccessGO icon or with the keyboard shortcut “ALT + 1”. All functions can also be used with the keyboard. Among other things, you can adjust:

  • Text size
  • Contrast
  • Highlighting of links
  • Enabling a screen reader
  • Profiles that apply several settings at once

How accessible is the website?

The assessment is based on a self-evaluation using the AccessGO accessibility tool. Based on that review, the website is partially accessible under the applicable requirements. In particular, the following points are not fully compliant with the accessibility rules that apply to us:

  • Barrier: Broken ARIA reference: in some places an aria-labelledby or aria-describedby reference points to an element that does not exist.
  • Barrier: Some buttons are empty or have no descriptive text.
  • Barrier: Some links are empty or have no text, so their target or function is not clear.
  • Barrier: Some headings are empty or have no descriptive text.
  • Barrier: Adjacent redundant links with the same destination.
  • Barrier: Redundant title text on an element.
  • Barrier: Some PDF documents on the website (for example manuals, declarations of conformity, energy labels, certificates) are not fully accessible. Some files have structural and technical limitations — including missing heading structure, undefined reading order, missing alternative text for graphics, or untagged tables. Assistive technologies can therefore use them only to a limited extent. For organisational and economic reasons we cannot currently make all existing PDFs fully accessible. We aim to publish new documents in an accessible form where possible. If you need a specific document in an accessible format, please contact us — we will provide an accessible version where we can.

How we address these barriers

We are already working to fix these barriers. Some barriers cannot reasonably be resolved for economic reasons.
